What are Lash Extensions?

Lash extensions are semi-permanent fibers that are individually applied one-by-one (or in lightweight fans) to your natural lashes using a professional adhesive. Each set is fully customized to suit your eye shape and desired look—whether you prefer something soft and natural or more full and dramatic.

What are Refills and Why do I need one?

Lash extensions typically last 2-4 weeks before needing a refill. This depends on your natural lash cycle (YES! your natural eyelashes shed - you usually loose 2-5 a day), lifestyle and how well you follow aftercare.

As your natural lashes shed, so will the extension attached to it. Try to avoid rough treatment of your lash extensions to avoid premature shedding of the extensions.

On average, a refill is needed every 2-3 weeks.

To be eligible for a refill, we recommend having at least 50% of your lash extensions remaining at the time of your appointment.

If less than 50% of your extensions remain, we will still do our best to refresh your set; however, please note that we may not be able to restore your lashes to a full (100%) look within a standard refill appointment. In these cases, an additional appointment may be recommended shortly after to achieve your desired fullness.

If there is significant loss (approximately 60% or more missing),we recommend booking as a new full set so that we have even time to get you full again.

What are Classic Lash Extensions?

Classic Lash Extensions are great for anyone new to eyelash extensions or for someone who is looking for a more natural look. This look is achieved by applying one lash extension to one natural eyelash.

What are Wet Lash Extensions?

Wet Lash (also referred to as Mega Classics) is created using very thin lashes - lashes we would normally use to make volume fans - that we bundle together to make a small cluster of narrow, closed volume fans similar in appearance to spikes. This look closely resembles Classic but the end result of this set can either be customized to look bolder, thicker, and more noticeable OR more subtle than a Classic Set.

This style of extensions is very versatile and customizable and is our MOST REQUESTED lash style.

This is also a great alternative to someone who is looking for more than Classic but is not ready to commit to Hybrid or Volume Lash Extensions.

What are Hybrid Lash Extensions?

Hybrid Lash Extensions combines the Classic and Volume look into one.

We use a combination of Classic Lashes and Volume fans to create a fluffier and slightly fuller look. Perfect for anyone looking to add more fullness to their lashes but are not ready for the dramatic look that Volume lashes provide.

What are Volume Lash Extensions?

Recommended for those looking for a more dramatic look. We place a customized fan (made with 2 to 10 very fine and light hairs depending on the density and fullness the client desires) onto each of your natural lashes.

What is Strip Lash Extensions?

This look combines Volume fans with the addition of noticeable Spikes added to the set. These spikes are placed throughout the set and are often longer looking so that they stick out noticeably on top of the set. This set is recommended for anyone who likes wispy, fun and more dramatic sets.

Please note that we can make any style of set look wispy or textured. The difference between a Strip Lash Set vs. a Wispy Wet Lash Set for example is the volume fans used in a Strip Lash set.

Can I wear mascara with lash extensions?

Wearing mascara should be AVOIDED.

Using mascara on your extensions will affect the retention (longevity) of the set.

Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes?

No - when applied correctly and are cared for properly, lash extensions will not damage your natural lashes.

At Lash X Brow Studio, we prioritize lash health and only apply extensions that your natural lashes can safely support.

Please note: that we take the safety of your lashes very serious. If we feel that you are not a good candidate for lash extensions (lashes look damaged, very thin or frail) we will not proceed with the appointment.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

  • Please arrive makeup free (no makeup, oils or mascara).
  • Avoid caffeine right before your appointment.
  • If you wear contact lenses, please remember to wear your glasses to the appointment as contact lenses shouldn't be worn during application.
  • Please keep in mind that a new set takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete and refills are typically 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the style. Make sure you set aside enough time so you are relaxed and not feeling rushed during the appointment.  Most clients fall asleep and wake up to their new gorgeous lashes.

What does aftercare look like?

How well you take care of your Lash Extensions will determine how often you have to get them filled.  Refills are typically every 2-3 weeks after the initial full application.

  • Please wash your lashes daily. If you have dryer skin, you can wash your lashes every 2-3 days. Not washing them can result in dirt buildup, eye infections and premature loss of extensions.
  • For the first 24 hours, please avoid sauna's, steam rooms, swimming, and hot yoga.
  • Do not perm or tint lashes before or after the lash application.
  • Avoid pulling, scratching, rubbing, picking or twisting the lash extensions as it can pull out or damage your natural lashes.
  • Do not use creams, cleaners or makeup removers that contain oils.  Apply eye cream sparingly and avoid getting any on the lash line.
  • Brush your lashes daily with the re-usable eyelash wand provided by your technician.

Important: Should a severe reaction occur, please seek immediate medical attention.

Do you accept foreign fills (fills from another artist)?

We do accept foreign fills on a case-by-case basis. The previous work must be clean (good technique used), and no concerns about the quality or safety of the set.

A good indication that your lashes may be suitable for a refill is if you can easily brush through your lash extensions from base to tip with a clean spoolie (mascara wand) without any resistance.

If you experience tugging, pulling, or difficulty brushing through your lashes, we recommend booking a removal and new full set.

Additionally, if you squeeze your eyes and feel any discomfort, tightness, or pulling, this is also a sign that your current set may not be suitable for a refill.

Please note that regardless of client preference, if we have any concerns about the quality, safety, or integrity of the existing lash set, we will not proceed with a refill. In these cases, a removal and new full set will be required to ensure the health of your natural lashes and the best possible results.

In situations where we are unable to perform a refill, we will typically show you a photo of your lashes so you can clearly understand our recommendation from our perspective.
